McAllen CVB Services

The McAllen Convention and Visitors Bureau is pleased to offer assistance and services listed here for conventions and meetings that utilize 100 or more hotel nights in McAllen properties. These are some but not all of the services that are offered, custom services are available to better fit your group’s needs. After all, our goal is to make your experience in McAllen a smooth- running success!

Advance Planning:

  • Act as liaison between associations or groups and hotels.
  • Assist with transportation arrangements with airlines, buses, and auto rental companies.
  • Facilitate relationships with local service representatives, such as convention decorators, catering companies, venues for special events, tour operators, etc.
  • Provide coordination for group tours and events while in the area for the convention.

Delegate Packets:

  • Provide all attendees with information packets on the McAllen area
  • Provide McAllen momentos such as pencils, golf tees, pink grapefruit jellybeans, etc.
  • Provide discount coupons from local businesses.
Name Badges:
  • Furnish with imprinted pin-on name badges customized for your convention.
  • Please provide a typed list of names and an approved layout for the information on the badge.
  • A minimum of three (3) weeks before the date you will need them completed.
  • For more than 500 badges, please provide list four (4) weeks in advance.
Registration Assistance:
  • Provide assistance with registration and distribution of community information. Please Contact the CVB four (4) weeks prior to conference for assistance.
  • Can provide fresh fruit at registration - depending on time of year
Printing, Mailing and Marketing:
  • Print registration forms, tickets and programs. Up to eight (8) sheets that do not include paid advertising may be printed, on material we regularly stock, at no cost. Additional printing needs may be negotiated. Please have final copy in our office six (6) weeks in advance of convention.
  • Coordinate registration mailling.
  • Provide information brochures in mailing.

Border Buttermilk Welcoming Reception

A Border Buttermilk reception, a 40-year tradition, will be hosted by the McAllen Greeters, who on behalf of the citizens of McAllen will welcome your delegates. They will serve you their south-of-the-border mixture, not actually buttermilk at all, but a frozen pink lemonade and tequila drink, which has become a city trademark.

Tours on Demand

Tours and events on demand are unique events custom designed for each group of guests. Our guests are invited to pick from our array of attractions. Choose from a wide variety of tours, trips, spouse and off-site events. We can get you to the beach or the mountains of Mexico and everything in between.
