The American Public Works Association (APWA Texas Chapter) and the McAllen Convention and Visitors’ Bureau is pleased to announce that they have won the bid to host the 2025 Conference.
This Conference is a multi-day educational and networking event with a program tailored to public works employees, including directors, supervisors, and field staff, as well as the consultants, vendors, and manufacturers who support and do business with them. The Annual Conference is one of the Texas Chapter’s most important events and represents one of the primary funding sources used to support its continued operation.
“We are excited that the Texas Chapter of the American Public Works Association have chosen McAllen for their 2025 Conference. We look forward to hosting the organization and are eager to continue to welcome them back for future meetings and conferences,” said Maritza Munoz, Director of Conventions & Tourism for Visit McAllen.
“Public Works provides services that are part of resident’s everyday lives and essential to their health and safety. The American Public Works Association serves professionals in all aspects of public works and hosting this conference in McAllen allows access to the best education and training programs in public works, as well as networking opportunities with public works professionals for ideas, advice, and career opportunities,” said Elvira I Alonzo, Public Works Director & Texas Chapter Board Treasurer.
The June conference, that will take place at the McAllen Convention Center, is expected to draw over 500 attendees generating an economic impact of over $262,500.00.
