We’re celebrating Economic Development Week from May 8-12!
Chambers of Commerce serve as the backbone of economic development by providing resources and support to businesses, entrepreneurs and its communities. They help foster innovation and entrepreneurship, attract investment, create jobs and drive economic growth.
Economic Development Week was created in 2016 by the Economic Development Council, EDW aims to increase awareness for local programs that create jobs, advance career development opportunities and improve the quality of life in communities everywhere.
The McAllen Chamber of Commerce will be showcasing events, programming and local business on our social media platforms.
McAllen Chamber of Commerce hosted Jumpstart Career Expo February 2023 that saw over 900 attendees from in and out of the Rio Grande Valley looking for their next professional opportunity. Close to 450 positions were offered on the spot! Over 150 employers offered roles in various industries including health care, government, construction, administration, retail and more.
1 Million Cups is a national program that engages, educates and connects local entrepreneurs. Founded by the Kauffman Foundation, the program is based on the notion that entrepreneur’s network and discover solutions over a million cups of coffee. The McAllen Chamber of Commerce hosts monthly events to provide a supportive, inclusive space for entrepreneurs and the community to gather and connect, where you can work through business challenges and identify opportunities.
