Dear Governor Abbott,

The McAllen Chamber of Commerce helps local businesses thrive by creating economic momentum, accelerating connections, and enhancing the quality of life in the region.

As we all know, our communities can no longer thrive without access to robust, reliable, and secure broadband connections. This fact also applies in making sure our infrastructure can support emerging industries in tech which are critical in the diversification of our economy. Therefore, sustained state investment in our broadband capabilities is imperative to secure a strong future for our businesses here and quality-of-life.

During this current session, we will advocate for policies and legislation that can create economic prosperity for our community, businesses, and our residents. Sustainable state funding for broadband in Texas fits right in line with our goals and is critical to our community.

Therefore, we ask today that you please support a sustainable state funding model for broadband investment in Texas that places us on the same competitive level as the rest of the union.
