Miss Ylianna Guerra from McAllen, Texas proudly represented the Rio Grande Valley and earned the title of Miss Texas USA 2015!
This year’s pageant competition saw Miss Guerra as Miss Tropics of Texas USA, along with 113 young ladies from across the Lone Star State, competing for the crown on August 31 in Houston, Texas. In the pageant preliminaries she also earned the title of Miss Photogenic and was a Top 5 finalist in the Swimsuit division.
Ylianna’s journey to Miss Texas USA began with her first pageant win where she was crowned Miss Rio Grande Valley 2011, she then went on to become Miss South Texas in 2013. Ylianna is currently a senior at The University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, majoring in Communications, where she is on the Dean’s List and a member of the National Society of Leadership & Success. Ylianna is the daughter of Carlos L. and Yrma Guerra of McAllen, Texas, and has a younger sister, Ysabella. Along with her academic and pageant careers, she has modeled for international designers such as Jovani, Tony Bowls, Debi Lou Modeling Academy and was the official model for Glitz and Glamour boutique in McAllen, Texas.
This year, Ylianna competed for and won the title of Miss Tropics of Texas 2014 which led her to the crown of Miss Texas USA with Allie Gonzalez, Miss South Texas, who placed 1st runner up. The local pageants are under the direction of Debi Chavez of Debi Lou Productions, the Rio Grande Valley’s official recruiter for Miss Texas USA and Miss Texas Teen USA, branches of the prestigious Miss Universe Organization, a joint venture of Donald J. Trump and NBCUniversal.
Miss Ylianna Guerra will compete next year at the 2015 Miss USA pageant, where she hopes to earn the crown that will one day lead her to the celebrated Miss Universe title.
