The Government Affairs Council is hosting Texas Workforce Commissioner Representing Labor Alberto Treviño III from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday March 30, 2023, at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce.
GAC sponsored by South Texas Health System, Boggus Ford McAllen and McAllen International Airport, is offered to all Chamber members who are interested in connecting with policy makers and engaging with civic leaders in meaningful dialogue surrounding key issues.
Treviño was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott in January 2023. Prior to his appointment, Treviño served for more than 30 years in law enforcement with 21 years of service to the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) where he served as an executive vice president and treasurer. He has an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Texas Southmost College.
The Office of the Commissioner Representing Labor advocates for the interests of workers with respect to Texas Workforce Commission services. During the GAC meeting, Commissioner Treviño will be speaking about what he plans to accomplish for the Rio Grande Valley in his new position.
“We give all McAllen Chamber members the opportunity to become part of the Government Affairs Council,” said Director of Public Policy and Governmental Affairs Gerry Garcia. “They can meet the decision makers and voice any concerns or opinions on current issues which helps advocate for our community.”
Lunch will be served. If you would like to attend, please RSVP with Gerry at (956) 682-2871 or email ggarcia@mcallenchamber.com
