The new brand identity, logo navigate through decades of history
By McAllen Chamber of Commerce
More than 80 members celebrated our Brand Reveal event Tuesday morning at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce.
City officials, membership, supporters alike were able to hear and see firsthand how the new brand identity and logo came to fruition.
McAllen Chamber President & CEO Josh Mejia addressed the crowd and spoke about the efforts of each department and how they are impacting the business community. Mejia also delved into the Chambers’ storytelling efforts and how it’s the foundation for the newly formed Strategic Communications department.
Vice President of Strategic Communications Christine Cavazos recounted the tale of how the new brand identity came about with the help of Multimedia Specialist Andres Sanchez.
“The new logo mark is built upon the circular iconography of a coin, styled into a ring and the intersection of four rings represents the unity of the Chamber’s four pillars,” Cavazos said. “Economic Development, Membership, Public Policy and Tourism, as well as their shared mission of service to our community. By encasing this design in one final ring, we pay tribute to the greatest icon in McAllen history-The Palm Tree.”
A check presentation from the McAllen Chamber Ambassadors to nonprofit organizations Make-a-Wish Foundation and Children’s Bereavement Center of the Rio Grande Valley were also part of the event. The donations are pooled from Ambassadors monthly meetings where they “brag” about someone or something special while making a monetary donation.
