As the temperature rises and summer vibes fill the air, the monthly Art Walk at the McAllen Creative Incubator takes a breather for the summer months, gearing up for a return in September.
Organized by the McAllen Chamber of Commerce, Art Walk takes place the first Friday of every month and is free to the community. The event shines a spotlight on local micro artists, contributing to their growth while fostering local economic development. On average, 30 vendors sell original artwork, artisanal products, jewelry and more.
Art Walk is sponsored by Boggus Ford McAllen.
“The support given to micro artists at Art Walk goes beyond just providing them with a space to sell their work,” Vice President of Economic Development Jorge Sanchez said. “The event generates revenue for these artists and contributes to the local economy.”
Other highlights of Art Walk include an array of performances and exhibits by local dance acts, live bands, and art students from different school districts. This fosters an inclusive environment that celebrates the diversity of artistic expression.
“The McAllen Chamber recognizes that a thriving arts community contributes to the overall attractiveness of the area, enhancing its appeal for residents, tourists and businesses alike.” Sanchez said.
