The City of McAllen is the largest city in Hidalgo County and the 21st most populous city in Texas. It is located at the southern tip of the state in the Rio Grande Valley, close to the country of Mexico.​

The McAllen Chamber of Commerce is a 501(c)6 organization that helps local businesses thrive by creating economic momentum, accelerating connections, and enhancing the quality of life in the region. Visit McAllen is a destination marketing organization (“DMO”) that is a component of the McAllen Chamber of Commerce and is tasked in promoting McAllen, Texas as a destination for tourists.

The McAllen Chamber of Commerce is seeking proposals from consultants to provide Marketing and Creative Consulting Services for Visit McAllen within the Mexico international market.  The McAllen Chamber of Commerce seeks a qualified and experienced firm to provide strategic direction, creative marketing consulting services, enhancement of the current brand, and assistance with special events and special project production and planning.

  1. What is the timeline for a final decision?
    All applicants will have until June 30th, 2023, to submit their proposal. A shortlist of agencies will be decided on by July 7th, 2023, with final presentations taking place July 12th. The chosen agency will be notified by August 4th, 2023.
  2. What markets will the agency be targeting?
    International marketing in the past has covered Monterrey, Mexico City, Saltillo, Torreon, and other nearby cities. We would also like to broaden the reach for those areas within the drive market to McAllen (150-200 miles)
  3. What is the desired budget for the agency’s contract?
    All projects, responsibilities, and tasks listed in the RFP should encompass a yearly contract between $40,000-$50,000 USD. Costs for special projects or campaigns are not included in that amount.
  4. Can companies based in the United States submit a proposal?
    Yes, if you have an office located in Mexico as well.
  5. Can I email or mail the proposal?
