Less than two weeks until the highly anticipated MXLAN 2023 Festival. City of McAllen officials and partners revealed new experiences during a second press conference at the McAllen Performing Arts Center.
The McAllen Chamber of Commerce is proud to be part of the three-day art and music festival July 28-30 celebrating Latino influence on popular culture. There is an expected attendance of over 65,000 patrons with 18 unique experiences.
New experiences are included with general admission tickets and will take place throughout the weekend. Evening performances by Voladores de Papantla “Flying Men” with their world-famous ceremonial dance that celebrates the culture of pre-Hispanic Mexico.
Also new at MXLAN 2023 is Lucha Libre starring Hijo De Dr. Wagner Jr., Psycho Circus, Tinieblas Jr. & Alushe, Lady Maravilla and more famous luchadores. Enjoy live street performances showcasing pre-Hispanic dances with fire dancers.
Additional details for the International Economic Summit were released which include panels with CEO’s from Palenque Group, CiL Logistics and Gorditas Doña Lula. A Bank’s President’s Panel featuring leaders from Lone Star National Bank, International Bank of Commerce, Plains Capital Bank and Texas Regional Bank will discuss economic connectivity between Mexico and U.S. markets. Keynote speaker Duncan Wood from the Wilson Center’s Mexico will provide economic insights.
Special ticketed events include Spirits Mezcal & Tequila presented by L&F Distributors. The event will take place on Saturday July 29 starting at 7:30 p.m. Individual tickets will include mezcal and tequila tastings, five signature drinks, unlimited food samples from various restaurants, music and more.
The Sunday July 30 lineup features Sabor a Mexico with unlimited food samplings from 15 participating restaurants, two adult drinks, non-alcoholic beverages, music and more.
The festival will also feature live performances at the Breakthrough Music Stage with Carla Morrison, Little Jesus, Maye, Glare, Estevie, Kinky and more!
During the press conference, sponsors such as City of McAllen, McAllen International Airport, Visit McAllen, Boggus Auto Group, Reliant, H-E-B, L&F Distributors, Ruby Red Hospitality and South Texas College had the opportunity to talk about their presence at the festival including booth visibility, giveaways, and more.
In addition to special experiences, MXLAN 2023 will offer wide range of activities for all ages and interests: Artisan Mercado, Neon Nights 5K Run, Craft Mask Building, Gratitude Art Project, Botanical Fridas Art Exhibit, La Comunidad Mural Project, Creator in Motion, Calenda Street Parade and more.
