City of McAllen officials and partners announced this year’s McAllen Holiday Parade festivities and its theme “South Pole Dream Land,” Wednesday morning at the McAllen Performing Arts Center.
Sponsors and community stakeholders attended a press conference where details were released. This year marks the 10-year anniversary of the largest illuminated holiday and helium balloon parade in Texas. The McAllen Chamber of Commerce is a proud sponsor of this milestone celebration.
City officials announced Ana Laura Muñoz as the winner of the McAllen Holiday Shoebox Parade with her ‘Let It Snow’ entry. Her creation will be turned into a life-size float during the parade on Saturday, December 2nd.
The community can attend with ticketed and free seating anywhere along the 1.5-mile parade route, enjoying over 50 illuminated and animated floats designed by City of McAllen employees at the McAllen Float Studio. Other features will include Christmas in the Park, a free family centered festival that provides food, games, a carnival, local community performances and free concerts.
