The McAllen Chamber of Commerce is joining forces with Workforce Solutions and Texas Workforce Commission to host Jumpstart Career Expo from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on February 22, 2023, at the McAllen Convention Center.
More than 150 employers will set up shop to speak about their business, interview and hire on the spot. Potential job seekers can apply to more than 6,500 jobs in industries such as health care, government, construction, hospitality, retail, administrative support and more. Employers include Hidalgo County, Brand Safeway, South Texas Health System, Texas A&M, Fritto Lay, Coca-Cola and more.
The event is free and open to the public.
Attendees can expect resume building assistance, free professional headshots and haircuts, and more to help them find their next career opportunity.
Title sponsor, South Texas Health System, will provide free health checks and screenings. Other sponsors supporting this initiative include McAllen International Airport, Ruby Red Hospitality and Explore McAllen.

Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship Jorge Sanchez has been leading the efforts for this event, “Our goal is to connect the bridge between employers and job seekers to combat the nationwide problem that all employers are facing, tight labor markets,” he said.
